On pre-2018 Wolf induction ranges such as the IR304TE/S/TH and IR365PE/S/PH, code 31 means the control found an invalid configuration. The saved setup that tells it which model and options it is running does not match what it expects. The display shows 31 and the range may refuse to heat. This often follows a control replacement or a memory problem.
1. Turn all elements off and clear the glass. 2. Flip the range breaker off, wait one minute, then flip it on. 3. Check whether 31 clears on restart. 4. If it stays, stop using the range and call us. Do not open the range or remove the control.
Code 31 says the control's saved model setup is not valid. The range does not know which options it should run. That is a control-level issue, not a problem with your pans or the glass.
A replacement control has to be set up for your exact model. If that step is missing or wrong, the range can show 31. A technician with the right tools can correct it.
A breaker reset is safe to try, but it rarely changes a stored configuration. If 31 returns, call us and we will quote the repair before any work starts.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
