Wolf legacy dual fuel ranges, such as the DF304 and DF606CG, run a memory test each time power is applied. ERR 08 means the EEPROM checksum was incorrect, so the control board found its stored settings did not add up. The display shows the code right after power-up, and the oven may refuse to start any cooking mode until the memory check passes again.
1. Turn all knobs to OFF. 2. Open the range breaker for one minute and close it again, since the check runs at every power-up. 3. Watch whether ERR 08 appears again. 4. If it does, do not keep cycling power. 5. Call us with the model number.
The control checks its memory when power is applied, so a bad result appears right away. It is a start-up test rather than something that develops while cooking.
It can, if power was lost at the wrong moment. One reset may clear it. If it comes back every time, the memory or board needs service.
Possibly, depending on the repair. We explain what will change and the price in writing before we begin. Any saved preferences may return to defaults after a board repair, and we tell you before we start.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
