Steam Oven Repair in Houston

A Wolf convection steam oven cooks with steam, dry convection heat or both, drawing water from a removable reservoir. When it stops making steam, leaks, or asks for descaling again and again, we look at water handling first.

01What goes wrong

Common steam oven problems we fix

In the order we see them across Houston homes.

01

No steam appears, though the fan runs

02

Descale reminder returns soon after descaling

03

Water pools on the floor of the cavity

04

Reservoir not recognized when pushed in

05

Door gasket drips or lets steam escape

06

Food comes out dry in combination mode

Wolf’s convection steam oven combines a steam generator, convection fan and heating elements in one cavity, usually built into a wall stack beside a wall oven or speed oven. It can steam vegetables, proof bread and reheat leftovers without drying them out.

Water is what wears a steam oven. Minerals in Houston-area tap and well water leave scale on the steam generator, sensors and pump, and skipped descaling cycles let that scale build until steam output drops. Humidity in the cabinet also keeps door gaskets damp.

Our first checks cover the reservoir connection, scale level, pump and water sensors, then the heating and fan system. We explain what the scale has affected and give you a written price before replacing anything.

05Steam Oven questions
How often should I descale my Wolf steam oven?

Follow the oven's own reminder, which tracks use. Houston city water and private wells both carry minerals, so many homes see the prompt more often than they expect. Using the descaler named in the owner's manual protects the steam generator.

Water is collecting at the bottom of the oven after cooking. Is that normal?

A little condensation is normal with steam cooking. A puddle that grows, or water near the door, points to a drain, gasket or pump issue. We check the gasket seal, the drain path and water level sensing.

Can I use filtered or distilled water in the reservoir?

Check your owner's manual first, since water recommendations can vary by model. If you aren't sure, we can review what your specific oven expects during a visit and show you how to keep scale down between descaling cycles.
