Wolf legacy dual fuel ranges, including the DF366 and DF484CG families, show ERR 02 for an over-temperature condition. The control logs it when the oven reaches 630 degrees F with the door unlocked, or 950 degrees F with the door locked. Expect the oven to shut heating off and show the code. A second published figure for the locked limit differs, so we check against the actual unit.
1. Turn the oven OFF and leave the door closed. 2. Do not open the door wide at high heat; wait until the oven is cool. 3. Remove pans and foil from the oven floor. 4. Reset the breaker for one minute after the oven is cool. 5. If ERR 02 returns, stop using the oven and call us.
The limits are 630 degrees F with the door unlocked and 950 degrees F locked. Normal cooking and self-clean stay well below these, so seeing the code means something is out of range.
The oven shuts heating off to protect itself, but we do not recommend using it again until checked. Excess heat can damage the cabinet and wiring.
Sometimes it clears the display, but if the cause is a sensor or control problem it will return. Call us rather than testing repeatedly. If you still feel unsure afterward, we can talk through what the oven did before the code appeared.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
