Wolf CSO convection steam ovens, such as the CSO24 and CSO30 series, show E73 or F23 when water is not leaving the boiler as expected. The official causes are a drain pump pumping off too little water, water conductivity that is too low, and foam in the boiler housing from an unsuitable descaling agent. Owners see the code and the oven stops making steam until it is cleared.
1. Empty the tank and refill with regular fresh tap water rather than distilled water. 2. If you recently descaled with a different product, run a fresh-water rinse as the guide describes. 3. Make sure the drain hose, if visible at your install, is not pinched. 4. Power off for one minute and try again. 5. Call us if E73 or F23 returns.
The oven is not pumping enough water out of the boiler. That can be the pump, very low-conductivity water, or foam from the wrong descaler. On site we look at drain pump removing too little water and water conductivity too low, then quote the repair in writing.
F23 is another display label for this condition, and it also covers E81. We keep a page for F23 alone, but the checks here are the same.
No. We confirm on site what is wrong, give a written price, and replace a part only when the test points to it. We would also rule out water conductivity too low before recommending anything.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
