On Wolf CSO convection steam ovens, including the CSO24 and CSO30 families, the message Insert Food Probe means the oven cannot detect the temperature probe. The official reasons are a probe that is not plugged in, a loose contact in the probe socket, or damaged wiring behind the socket. The display keeps prompting for the probe, and a probe-based cooking mode will not start until the oven sees it.
1. Let the oven cool and unplug the probe from the socket. 2. Wipe the probe plug with a dry cloth and push it firmly back in until it seats. 3. Try a time-based mode instead of a probe mode to see whether normal cooking still works. 4. If the message returns with the probe seated, stop using probe modes and call us.
Not necessarily. The oven only reports that it does not detect a probe. A plug that is not seated or a loose socket contact gives the same message, so we check the socket side before suggesting a new probe.
Usually yes. Time-based modes do not depend on the probe, so you can keep cooking while you wait for the visit. Avoid any mode that asks for a target food temperature until the probe is detected.
