Wolf DD36R Downdraft Service
Within the legacy downdraft line, the DD36R is the 36-inch downdraft ventilation, made 2003–2014 as the R-suffix version, before the current DD36 arrived in 2015. A downdraft unit pulls cooking air downward at the cooktop instead of lifting it into a canopy, and the way the kitchen gets makeup air changes how well it pulls. Years of daily use leave a film on the filters and the blower wheel; the cure is often a cleaning and a small part rather than a full replacement.
A quick airflow test at the opening tells us whether the trouble is the blower or the duct; while we wipe down the housing to see how much grease has gathered. The price is put in writing before we touch the hood, and the work carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A rattle that grows with speed points to a loose wheel, dry bearings or something stuck in the housing, so a visit usually begins with cleaning and measuring.
After an outage we check the power supply, switch response and control board before assuming anything has failed, and we will tell you plainly if a part is not worth replacing.
Many repairs can be done in place, but a blower or motor job may need the hood lowered or partly removed, and we put the plan in writing first.
