Error 03 x 5 on the Wolf Legacy E Series wall ovens, such as the SO30CE/B/TH, is listed as No MDL Detect. The control expects the MDL output to respond and does not see it. You see the code on the display, and cooking functions tied to that output may not start or may stop. Which cavity is involved is shown by the digit that stands in for the x.
1. Power the oven down and allow plenty of cooling time. 2. Make sure the door closes fully and nothing is wedged in the seal. 3. Do a one-minute power reset at the breaker. 4. Run a short bake. If Error 03 x 5 appears again, leave the oven off and call us.
The display uses the short label MDL, and we keep it as shown. What matters is that the control expects that load to respond and does not detect it.
They are related. Error 07 x 18 reports the MDL relay open. Error 03 x 5 reports that the MDL load itself is not detected, so we check both circuits together.
That depends on the model and mode. If cooking stops or the code returns after a breaker reset, we recommend leaving it off until we test the circuit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
