On Wolf M Series wall ovens, 4031 says the upper oven's bake element is not detected, with 4032 for the lower oven. The control cannot find the element in its circuit. You see the code and the upper oven may not bake because the control sees nothing to heat with. This one points at the heating circuit itself, not at a sensor.
1. Turn the oven off and allow it to cool. 2. Reset the oven breaker for one minute, then restore power. 3. Preheat briefly and check whether the code reappears. 4. If it returns, leave the oven off and book a visit. Do not handle element wires or open any panel.
Often, but not always. The control cannot sense the element, which can be an open element or just a loose connector. We check the connection and measure the element, then quote before replacing it.
The control may block that heating circuit, so cooking is poor. The code itself does not point to overheating. We suggest limiting use until we test the element and its connections.
We inspect the element and wiring, then give you a written price before any work starts. The repair carries a 30-day workmanship warranty, and we only replace what tests bad.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
