On Wolf M Series wall ovens, 2720 is a watchdog report covering the heating elements or the motorized door lock (MDL). The watchdog is a safety check that fires when those outputs are not behaving as the control commanded. You see the code and the oven may shut down heating and stop responding to cooking commands. These electronic problems are not caused by anything the owner did in cooking.
1. Cancel cooking and leave the oven idle for five minutes. 2. Reset it at the breaker, waiting a full minute before power returns. 3. Watch whether the display starts normally. 4. A repeating code means the electronics need a technician.
It is a safety check on the heating elements and door lock outputs. When they do not follow commands, the control shuts things down. Because a stuck output can overheat, we do not advise running the oven until it is tested.
A surge or outage can disturb the electronics and leave a code behind. A single reset may clear it. If the code returns, a board or cable is probably weak, and we test it.
Our work carries a 30-day workmanship warranty. We test the cable, the supply, and the boards, then price in writing. You approve before we replace anything.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
