Wolf ventilation includes wall and island hoods, pro hoods, hood liners and downdraft systems, each moving smoke and grease out of the kitchen. When the fan weakens, rattles or the lights quit, we test the whole air path.
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
Wolf’s ventilation line covers wall and island chimney hoods, pro wall hoods, hood liners that fit inside a custom enclosure, and downdraft units that rise behind a cooktop. Many use an internal blower, while others connect to an in-line or remote blower on the duct run or roof.
Houston cooking leaves a lot of grease in a hood, and humid air helps it stick to filters, the blower wheel and duct walls. Coastal salt can corrode exterior wall caps and roof blowers.
We check filters, blower speed, damper movement and the duct path, then test controls, lighting and the motor. A licensed contractor is the better call for new ductwork or a roof cap; we handle the hood and blower, with a written price first.

Common causes are clogged baffle filters, a blower wheel coated in grease, or a duct damper that sticks closed. We check all three, plus the motor and the duct run, since a hood can only move as much air as its ductwork allows.
It depends on how much you cook, especially with a griddle or charbroiler. Many baffle filters can be washed in hot, soapy water; your owner's manual gives the method for your model. Clean filters take strain off the blower motor.
Usually. A downdraft raises and lowers with a motor, gears and position switches. Debris in the track, a stalled motor or a switch that no longer reads the position can stop it. We test each part and quote the repair in writing.
