Wolf M Series wall ovens report 1421 when the relay feeding the upper oven's left convection element is read as open. The lower oven shows 1422. The element is not receiving power when the control asks for convection heat, so you see the code and convection cooking runs cooler or uneven. Owners typically notice slow preheating or a mode that no longer heats the way it used to.
1. Cancel cooking and wait until the cavity is cool to the touch. 2. Check that the oven's circuit breaker is fully on. 3. Restore power after a one-minute reset and try again. 4. A repeat code means the circuit needs testing, which we do.
The oven will not overheat from this code, since the left convection element simply is not powered. Cooking will be uneven, though. Standard bake may still work. We test the relay and element before replacing anything.
Often, yes, because only one heating circuit is affected. You may see uneven results. We recommend short use only and a prompt visit, since one weak circuit can stress the others.
We test the relay output and the element with a meter, tell you which one failed, and put the price in writing for your approval. The 30-day workmanship warranty covers what we install.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
