On legacy Wolf dual fuel ranges that show text error messages, such as the DF series, EEPROM means the oven controller cannot read from or write to its memory chip. The official direction is to replace the oven controller. Owners see the word EEPROM on the display and the oven may not heat or hold settings, because the controller cannot store or recall what it needs.
1. Turn the oven off. 2. Cut power to the range at the breaker for two minutes, then switch it back on. 3. See whether EEPROM clears and the display responds. 4. If it stays, do not keep cycling power. Leave the oven off and call us. We will confirm the controller and give you a written price.
The controller cannot read or write its stored memory. That memory holds the settings the oven needs, so without it the oven cannot run reliably.
