On Wolf V Series black glass cooktop hoods such as the VW30B, VW36B, VW45B, and VI42B, the display reading FG, which can look like F6, asks you to clean the aluminum mesh grease filters. It is a maintenance prompt and the hood is not damaged. The owner sees FG and the hood still runs. Clear the prompt by holding DELAY until FF appears.
1. Switch the hood off and wait until the filters are cool to touch. 2. Remove the aluminum mesh grease filters. 3. Wash them in hot soapy water or the dishwasher, then dry them fully. 4. Refit them and hold DELAY until FF shows to reset. 5. If the prompt stays, call us.
The letter G on the display can look like a 6, so many owners read it as F6. It is the grease filter reminder and not an error code in the repair sense.
Clean the mesh grease filters, dry them well, and put them back. Then hold DELAY until FF shows. The reminder resets and the hood goes back to normal operation.
Make sure the filters were dried and seated, and that you held DELAY long enough. If it still returns, call us and we will quote any work in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
