On Wolf CT wall and island hoods, CTE low-profile hoods, and Pro hoods such as the CTWH30 and CTWH36, a blinking blower speed LED means the heat sentry is active. When exhaust reaches 200F, the hood turns the blower on or steps its speed up, and it shuts off at 185F. The owner sees the LED blink and hears the fan start without pressing anything.
1. Let the hood run until the exhaust cools below 185F. 2. Turn down or turn off burners that are not in use. 3. Do not switch the hood off at the breaker while it is cooling. 4. Check that the grease filters are clean and seated so air flows well. 5. If it runs often with light cooking, call us.
No. It tells you the heat sentry is protecting the hood. Heat at the hood reached 200F, so the blower turned on or sped up until the exhaust drops to 185F.
That is the heat sentry doing its job. It needs no button press and cannot be overridden by the controls while the exhaust is hot. Once it cools, the hood stops running.
If it triggers with only light cooking, or the fan does not start at all when the LED blinks, call us. We check the hood and give you the price in writing before any work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
