Wolf CSO convection steam ovens in both the 24-inch and 30-inch sizes display E116 when they detect a problem with the door lock switch. The lock assembly is a safety item on this oven, so any trouble with it ends the cycle rather than risk an open door. Typically the display shows the code, the cycle ends, and the door may not open or close as usual.
1. Turn the oven off and give it time to cool down. 2. Check the door seal and latch edge for crumbs or anything caught. 3. Close the door slowly until it clicks. 4. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then back on before trying again. 5. Call us if the code returns, and avoid forcing the door.
The E-hinge is named in one of these codes, so we do check it. We look at alignment, wiring, and the lock motor and tell you which part, if any, needs to be replaced.
Please do not force it. If the door is stuck shut, call us. We use the correct method to release the lock without damaging the door or the seal.
After repair, we test the lock through a full cycle and confirm it engages and releases correctly. The repair comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty, and the price is agreed in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
