On Wolf CSO convection steam ovens, such as the CSO24 and CSO30 series, E76 is a rinse-stage code. The official meaning is that there is insufficient water, or none, for rinsing, that foam has built up excessively, or that the retractable handle has an issue. The display shows E76 and the oven halts instead of moving on. It is closely related to E75 but does not involve the bottom heat actuator.
1. Fill the tank to the top with fresh water and push it in until it seats. 2. Run the rinse again so the foam can clear. 3. Check that the handle is not stuck partway. 4. Power the oven off for a minute and retry. 5. If E76 returns, stop and call us.
It is usually minor. The oven simply did not get enough rinse water, or foam got in the way, so the first fix is a full tank and another rinse.
They share the water and foam checks, but E75 also lists the bottom heat actuator. E76 stops at the handle, so it is the shorter list. Starting point for us is usually too little rinse water in the tank, with the price written down before any work.
We check the handle movement, the water path and the foam condition, tell you the price in writing, and then fix only what we confirm. We would also rule out excessive foam after descaling before recommending anything.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
