Our technicians repair Wolf gas and dual fuel ranges, rangetops, cooktops, ventilation hoods, ovens and outdoor grills across Kemah, from bayside townhouses to channel-front homes. Book online or call; we route around boardwalk traffic.
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach Wolf diagnostics here.
The post office dates to 1907, when John H. Kipp Sr. opened it, and a shrimp fleet followed the Clear Creek Channel after it was cut in the 1950s. Hurricane Carla battered Kemah in 1961, and Landry's built the boardwalk on the old waterfront in 1998.
Renovated channel houses stand beside homes that lived through Carla, so the gas piping behind a range can be new or decades old. We check the shutoff and flex connector before a Wolf range is pushed back into place.
Galveston County WCID No. 12 supplies the town. In 1991 the regional water authority laid a pipe to the district beside Highway 146, and treated Brazos River water from Texas City still arrives that way.
That supply is steady, but any treated water leaves minerals in a Wolf steam oven over time. We check the descale count and clean the drain before suggesting a new steam generator.
In 2008 Hurricane Ike drove a 17-foot wall of water across the boardwalk, wrecking every ride but the Boardwalk Bullet. Year-round, the same bay wind carries salt into garages, patios and kitchens near the water.
Salt eats at grill burners, igniter leads and hood baffle frames, so we look for corrosion first on any Wolf unit near the bay. If a range or grill was dried out after a surge rather than replaced, we inspect its wiring and gas valve before quoting a repair.
Bayside homes and townhouses tend toward compact kitchens with a modest range. Renovated houses near the channel more often pair a gas range or cooktop with a hood vented outdoors.
A hood vented to the outside needs a clear duct and a working damper, or smoke and grease linger in the kitchen. We test the blower speeds, the damper and the lights on every Wolf hood call.
Near the boardwalk and at the Highway 146 bridge, summer weekend traffic barely moves. We favor weekday morning visits here and pair Kemah with Bacliff and Clear Lake Shores on a next-day route. Mention whether your townhouse has guest parking, and text us a picture of the model plate.
Grease from fried and boiled seafood builds up in hood baffles faster than most owners think. When a hood gets noisier but clears less steam, soaking the baffles usually fixes it, and a burner that clicks without lighting often just has a wet cap. If you smell gas or the roof duct is blocked, call a plumber or a duct contractor before booking us.
Most often a damp cap or residue near the igniter is to blame. Dry the cap and seat it again, and if a dry burner still clicks, we test the spark module and quote it on site.
It speeds corrosion on burners, igniters and valve stems. A cover and regular cleaning help, and we point out rust before it reaches the gas valve.
Weekday mornings are our first choice here. Pick a 9–12 window and we fit you into the next-day route when we can.
