Wolf MWD24-2U/S Drawer Repair
The MWD24-2U/S is a 24-inch drawer microwave from Wolf’s earlier MWD generation, built between 2009 and 2013 and normally tucked under a counter or into a lower cabinet bank. Its motor slides the drawer, and a position sensor rather than a latch tells the control when it is safe to run.
Age is the main factor with these. Tracks collect crumbs and spills, drive parts wear, and a sensor that sees the drawer even slightly short of seated will stop the cycle after a few seconds or never let it begin. We clear the travel path first, then test the sensor and the drive, and only then move on to the heating circuit. You see a written price before the work, and the repair comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
The interlock follows actual drawer travel, not appearances, so a close that stops a little short reads as open. We check the track for obstructions, then the position sensor and the drive.
That often means the sensor briefly agrees the drawer is closed and then loses the signal, or the drawer creeps. We test the position sensing and the drive before suspecting the heating side.
Have it looked at soon. Uneven or noisy travel is usually the drive wearing, and catching it early is a smaller job than waiting for the drawer to jam shut with food inside.
