What E102 / F30 means

Code E102 / F30 on a Wolf CSO convection steam oven (24-inch or 30-inch series) is reported for that the oven has lost communication with the relay board. It is a software and board level condition, so cooking settings and the water tank have nothing to do with it. You may see the code on start-up or mid-cycle, and the oven may ignore the keys until power is cycled.

Common causes of E102 / F30

  • Lost link to the relay board
  • Connection to the relay board
  • Relay board needing replacement
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the oven off and let it rest until it is cool to the touch. 2. Look at the breaker and confirm it is on. 3. Turn it off for sixty seconds and back on. 4. Let the display finish its start-up and try a short cycle. 5. If it shows again, leave the oven off and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Boards share mains voltage and should only be handled by trained technicians.
  • Reloading or replacing a board can need specific parts and tools.
  • You see the price in writing before we start, and the repair is warranted for 30 days.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E102 / F30E102 / F30 questions
What does the F label mean?

The F label appears with this code as the screen-level version of the same condition. We read both numbers together, and they point us to the boards and the system software rather than to the door or tank.

Can you reload software?

When the description calls for a reload, we do it as part of the visit if the board allows it. If the board is beyond that, we explain the replacement and its price first.

Should I keep using the oven?

We would hold off. When the boards are not communicating properly, the oven cannot be sure of heat or steam commands, and a half-finished cycle may leave food undercooked.
