On Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens such as the SO24 and SO2450, E55 says the supplementary board is defective or has a hardware error. The supplementary board works alongside the main control, and when it fails the oven posts E55 and may stop functions that depend on it. Heating and display behavior vary, but the code stays until service.
1. Switch the oven off and wait until it is cool. 2. Reset the breaker for one minute. 3. Try a short Bake and watch for E55. 4. If it returns, schedule service. Do not remove covers. Please do not try to power the oven back on again and again, since each attempt can stress the board further.
It is an extra control board that supports the main control. E55 says it has failed or has a hardware error. It shares tasks with the main control.
Only if the cause was a passing glitch. A true hardware error returns. A passing glitch can clear, but a hardware error will not. We will tell you which of the two applies.
We advise having it looked at before regular use, since the oven may not control some loads correctly. Wait for the check before using it again.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
