On Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens like the SO24 and SO2450 families, E09 reports a short circuit in the oven's temperature sensor or in the wiring that runs to it. The control reads an impossible value from the sensor, so it cannot track cavity heat. The oven usually stops heating and shows E09, sometimes while it is still warm. The reading is wrong rather than merely low.
1. Press Off and let the oven cool completely. 2. Reset the breaker for one minute, then restore power. 3. Start a plain Bake at 350°F and check the display. 4. If E09 returns, stop and book service. Do not reach into the oven wall or unplug anything. The sensor wiring is not a place to probe.
The sensor or its wire is giving the control a value that cannot be real. With no good temperature reading the oven stops heating and shows E09.
They are close relatives. E09 is a short in the sensor or wiring, while E10 is a break or loose contact. Both involve the same sensor circuit.
Please do not. If the oven cannot read its own heat, it may overheat or not heat at all, so wait for a technician. Waiting for service is the safest choice.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
