On Wolf M Series wall ovens, including the DO30PM/S/PH, code 4531 means the control does not detect the upper right convection fan. It calls for the fan to run and sees no sign that the motor is responding. The display shows 4531, and convection modes may stop, run without airflow, or give uneven results. The rest of the oven, including regular Bake, usually keeps working.
1. Stop the oven and give the walls and racks a good while to cool. 2. Cycle the oven's breaker by leaving it off for two minutes before turning it on. 3. Start Convection Bake with the door closed and listen for the fan; a steady hum of moving air is normal. 4. If 4531 returns or the fan is silent, stop using convection modes and call us.
Standard Bake and Broil may still work because they do not need the fan. Convection modes depend on airflow, so we recommend skipping them until the fan has been tested.
Some owners hear a grinding or scraping noise before the code; others hear nothing at all. Tell us what you noticed, as it helps us decide whether the motor or a blade is the problem.
Not unless both are bad. Each fan is checked on its own. We replace only the part that tests bad and quote it in writing before starting.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
