E6 shows on Wolf CI induction cooktops with the 2015-and-newer EGO control, CE electric cooktops such as the CE304C/B, and the 2015 integrated modules like the SM15TF/S. On each of them it reports a power supply error. On the CI induction models, the cookware in use can also contribute to it. The display shows E6 and the affected unit will not run normally.
1. Turn all zones off and let everything cool. 2. On induction models, try a different flat magnetic pan, centered on the zone. 3. Turn its disconnect off for one minute, then back on. 4. If E6 returns with different pans, call us. Do not open any panel.
On induction CI cooktops, yes. Pans that are warped, too thin, or not magnetic enough can upset the electrical balance, so a different pan is a fair first test.
Cookware is not the issue on electric models. A single reset is worth trying, and if E6 persists, the supply or the control needs testing by a technician.
Not necessarily. We check the voltage reaching the cooktop to see whether the house supply or the cooktop itself is responsible for the error, then explain which it is.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
