On Wolf CT electric cooktops such as the CT30E/S, CT36E/S, and CT15E/S, E30 means an LED segment error. One of the display segments or indicators is not lighting correctly. The cooktop may still heat, but the readout can look incomplete, with a segment dark or stuck. The display shows E30, and it relates to the display rather than to the heating elements.
1. Turn all elements off. 2. Wipe the display glass with a dry cloth and look at which segments are dark. 3. Let the cooktop sit with its breaker off for sixty seconds, then turn it on. 4. If E30 remains, call us and tell us which part of the display looks wrong.
The code is about display segments. Heating may still work, but if you cannot read the settings, we recommend waiting for repair. We test first, so you only pay for the part that failed.
Cleaning the glass is fine, but it will not fix a segment that has failed behind the glass. It only helps rule out dirt. If it turns out to be simple, we tell you so.
They look similar but belong to different platforms. E30 is for CT electric cooktops, while module cooktops have their own LED codes such as E18 and E19.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
