E05 covers three Wolf platforms. On CT electric cooktops such as the CT30EU, it means an open ambient thermistor. On CI induction cooktops with the touchscreen, such as the CI36560T/S, it is a LIN communication error between control parts. On integrated module cooktops from the 2015 series, such as the FM15TF/S, it means the steam fill RTD is shorted, reading below minus 50F for 20 seconds. The display shows E05.
1. Turn off all elements and let the glass cool. 2. Leave the breaker off for about a minute before switching it on again. 3. Check that nothing metal or wet is resting on the touch controls. 4. If E05 returns, do not keep power cycling; note your model number from the label and call us.
Wolf uses separate control designs across its cooktop lines, and each one assigns E05 to a different circuit. Your model number tells us which meaning applies.
It means two parts of the induction control are not talking to each other. That can be a connection or a board; we confirm which before quoting.
It depends on the platform. Often the control stops heating while E05 is active because it cannot trust a sensor or a link, so cooking may be unavailable.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
