What E03 means

On Wolf CI induction cooktops with the touchscreen control, such as the CI30460T/S and CI36560C/B, E03 is an LMB key error, meaning the control is not reading its key input correctly. On Wolf integrated module cooktops from the 2015 series, such as the TM15TF/S, E03 means the main RTD sensor is shorted, reading below minus 50 for 20 seconds. You will see E03 on the display and some functions may be unavailable.

Common causes of E03

  • Control key input the touchscreen unit cannot read correctly on a CI cooktop
  • Main RTD sensor circuit shorted on a 2015-series module cooktop
  • Control board that is reporting a wrong reading
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Wipe the glass and the touch area with a dry microfiber cloth; moisture and spills can confuse the keys. 2. Cut power at the panel for a full minute, then turn it back on. 3. Try the controls again with clean, dry fingers. 4. If E03 shows again, stop and call us; testing a sensor circuit means live panel work.

! Why to stop there
  • The same code points to a touch-control reading on one platform and a sensor circuit on the other, so the first check differs.
  • Sensor and key wiring sit under the glass and beside live power, which is not safe for owners to open.
  • Our estimate is written down and approved by you first; the work is then warranted for 30 days.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E03E03 questions
Does a wet touchscreen cause E03?

On the CI touchscreen cooktops, E03 is an LMB key error, so a dirty or wet control can be part of the picture. Dry it and restart before assuming a part has failed.

What does a shorted RTD mean on a module cooktop?

The main RTD is a temperature sensor. A shorted reading, below minus 50 for 20 seconds, tells the control the sensor circuit is not behaving like a normal sensor.

Will I lose settings after a breaker reset?

Normally nothing permanent is lost. The cooktop restarts like a fresh power-up. If E03 returns, we look deeper rather than resetting again and again. Nothing is replaced until you approve the written price.
