Repairing the Wolf CT30G/S Gas Cooktop
A 30-inch gas cooktop in the legacy CT line, the CT30G/S has a framed top and mechanical controls that predate the current CG family. Standard-width cutouts in older kitchens are where we most often meet it.
Two complaints sound alike but are not: a flame that looks uneven, and a burner that goes out as soon as you let go of the knob. Uneven flame usually comes from a dirty or partly clogged port. A burner that will not stay lit leans toward the ignition or the valve. Tell us which, and we begin there.
Because this model uses the older CT parts list, we check the label and do not substitute CG parts. If you smell gas, leave the room, avoid switches, and call your gas utility before anything else. Otherwise we quote in writing before work and back it for 30 days.
Gas may not be reaching it, or the spark may be weak or wet. We test both. Cleaning the burner is part of the visit, and we quote in writing before replacing an igniter or valve.
Not necessarily. This is a legacy CT cooktop with its own parts list. We match parts to the label on your cooktop to avoid an order that does not fit.
Often debris in the burner ports. Cleaning helps, but if it returns we inspect the burner, cap, and gas supply to it. We tell you what we find and price the work first.
