E8 on an earlier Wolf CT induction cooktop, for example the CT30 or CT36 sizes, means a generator 1 communication error: the communication board and generator 1 are not talking to each other. The burners fed by that generator stop working and E8 shows in the display. A burnt fuse trace on the generator is a known cause, and generators for the CT30I and CT36I are no longer available. On CI and CE cooktops, E8 is a fan error.
1. Turn all burners off. 2. Switch the breaker off for a minute, then restore power. 3. Test a burner; if E8 returns, leave the cooktop off. 4. Do not open the cooktop or touch any burn marks you may notice. 5. Call us so we can check generator 1 and discuss parts availability.
A burnt fuse trace on the generator is a known cause, and the generators for the CT30I and CT36I are no longer available. We will tell you what can and cannot be done before you spend anything.
Only on CI and CE cooktops. On these earlier CT induction cooktops, E8 means generator 1 communication. Our team will confirm the address and the model before the appointment day.
Possibly, but E8 means a power module is not communicating. We advise turning the cooktop off until we look at it. Even a code that looks minor deserves a proper look before it is ignored.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
