Wolf CT induction cooktops of the earlier CTI generation, such as CT30 and CT36 sizes, use E20 and E21 for a generator burner sensor that reads shorted. The affected burner shuts down. The official correction is to change the generator board. You will see E20 in the display and one burner will not heat. E22 and E23 describe the same sensor reading open instead.
1. Turn off all burners and let the cooktop cool. 2. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then back on. 3. Check whether the same burner shuts down with E20 again. 4. Do not try other burners hard in the meantime. 5. Call us so we can confirm the sensor and board.
The sensor circuit for one burner reads as shorted, so the control shuts that burner off for safety. E20 and E21 share this meaning. You are welcome to ask us questions at any point during the visit.
The listed correction is the generator board. We confirm with tests before quoting so you only pay for a part that is needed. Tell us what you were doing when it appeared, because that detail helps a great deal.
E20 is the sensor reading shorted; E22 is the sensor reading open. Same sensor, opposite condition. Photos of the display are useful when you book the appointment.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
