What E18 means

On Wolf CT electric cooktops such as the CT30E/S, E18 means a power board failure, the board that switches power to the elements has been judged defective. On Wolf integrated module cooktops from the 2015 series, such as the CE152TF/S, E18 is a front LO LED state error, where the front low-setting light does not match the commanded state. The display shows E18 and the cooktop may stop heating.

Common causes of E18

  • Power board on a CT electric cooktop that no longer works correctly
  • Front LO indicator on a module cooktop not matching the commanded state
  • Control board driving the indicator
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn all elements off and let the glass cool. 2. Cut power at the panel for a full minute, then turn it back on. 3. Watch the display and indicator lights as the cooktop restarts. 4. If E18 returns, leave the cooktop off and call; a power board must be replaced by a technician.

! Why to stop there
  • Power boards carry full element current, which is not safe for owners to handle.
  • On a module cooktop, an indicator mismatch may mean a driver problem that we confirm first.
  • No work begins until you have the price in writing, and we back the repair for 30 days.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E18E18 questions
Does E18 on a CT cooktop always mean a new board?

The code states power board failure, so replacement is likely. We confirm it first and give you the price in writing before ordering parts. If the cause is outside the cooktop, we say so honestly.

What is a front LO LED state error?

On a module cooktop, the front low-setting light should match the control command. E18 means it does not, so we check the indicator and its driver.

Is it safe to run other burners?

We recommend leaving the whole cooktop off after E18, since the power board feeds the elements and its condition is uncertain. Waiting rarely makes this kind of problem simpler.
