On Wolf CI induction cooktops with the touchscreen control, such as the CI30460C/B and CI36560C/B, E147 is a bus communication error. The parts of the control that share a data bus are no longer exchanging information correctly, so the cooktop stops normal operation. The display shows E147, and zones may not heat. A loose connection, a power disturbance, or a failing board can interrupt the bus.
1. Turn off all zones and take cookware off the glass. 2. Briefly take the cooktop off power at the breaker, about a minute, and restore it. 3. Wait for the display to start and try one zone. 4. If E147 returns, leave the cooktop off and call us; the bus wiring is beneath the glass near live power.
It is the shared communication line the control parts use to talk to each other. E147 means that line has an error and the cooktop cannot coordinate its zones.
They are related, since both are communication problems on the CI touchscreen cooktops. E111 names the TC, while E147 refers to the bus, so the first test we run differs.
If the control reports E147, it normally stops heating altogether. We suggest not forcing it and booking a visit if a reset does not help.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
