On Wolf CT electric cooktops (CTE and CTE-2), including the CT30E/S and CT36E/S, E59 is a display board config fuse error. The setup data on the display board, which tells it how to run this particular cooktop, cannot be read properly. The display shows E59, and the controls may not respond or the cooktop may not heat. The cooktop may not respond to touch at all.
1. Turn off all elements and let the cooktop cool. 2. Turn the cooktop's disconnect off for one minute, then reset it. 3. Clean and dry the control area. 4. If the E59 code returns, stop using the cooktop and schedule service. Please do not pry at the glass or control panel.
E58 is about the power module's setup, while E59 is about the display board's setup. They are neighbors in the list, but they point to different boards.
If a reset brings it back, the data may have simply hiccupped. If E59 shows again, the setup data is not reading and the board needs replacement.
We advise against it. A board that is not matched to your exact cooktop can trigger the same E59, so we confirm the part before ordering.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
