This M Series code means the DLB circuit for the upper oven's bake element is read as open on Wolf wall ovens. The lower oven reports 1232. The control sees no completed path through the DLB when it calls for bake heat. Owners see the code, and the upper oven may not bake or may stop heating mid-cycle. Heating may drop out partway through a cycle, which is easy to mistake for a thermostat problem.
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. 2. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then on again. 3. Try a short bake or broil to see whether the code returns. 4. If it does, stop and call us. Do not reach behind the oven or handle its wiring.
Sometimes a code clears after a power reset, but 1231 is an open DLB circuit on the upper bake element, so it usually returns when baking starts again. If it does, leave the oven off and call us for testing.
It depends on the code. Heating on the affected circuit will be missing or unreliable, so results suffer. The oven will not run away from this, but we would limit use and book a test soon.
We test first, then give you a written price before any work. The result might be a connector, a board, or an element, and we say which. Repairs carry our 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
