On Wolf L Series legacy wall ovens with the Invensys control, such as the SO30F/S and SO36U/S, OVER TEMP is displayed when the cavity reaches 630°F with the door unlocked or 930°F with the door locked. The oven shuts heating off. The usual routine is to ohm the RTD sensor, replace it if it is bad, and otherwise replace the relay board.
1. Turn the oven off and keep the door closed until it cools below warm to the touch. 2. Switch off the breaker for a minute. 3. Restore power and try a low bake while watching the display. 4. If OVER TEMP returns, leave the oven off and call us.
On the L Series oven it triggers at 630°F with the door unlocked or 930°F with the door locked. Other legacy platforms can use slightly different limits, so we confirm your model.
It is the oven temperature sensor. If it reads wrongly, the control may think the oven is cooler than it is and keep heating. A technician measures its resistance before blaming the relay board.
It is a protection shutdown, so treat it seriously. Do not keep restarting the oven. Let it cool and call us so the sensor and relay board are checked.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
