Across the Wolf M Series wall oven range, from the SO30TM and DO30PM to the SO3050 models, code 1731 means the triac for the upper oven light is open. The control cannot switch that light on through the output it uses. You will see 1731 on the display, and the upper oven lamp stays dark even when you press the light pad.
1. Cancel any cooking, and wait until the cavity is comfortable to be near. 2. Reset power at the breaker: off for a minute, then on. 3. If you want to test, start a short cycle and note whether 1731 reappears. 4. A repeat of 1731 means it is time for a technician, and we ask that you leave the back and controls closed.
The triac for the upper oven light is open, so the control cannot switch that lamp on. 1731 guides our first tests, so the quote reflects the real cause.
Usually not. The oven can still cook, and you can rely on the timer and display. Have it checked at a convenient time. We check 1731 on your own unit first, so there are no surprises on the bill.
A burned-out bulb is worth ruling out, and we do that first. If the lamp is good, the open output is the cause and we quote the repair in writing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
