On Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens, such as the SO24 and SO2450 families, E50 means moisture has been detected on the control board. Steam, a spill, or cleaning spray near the panel can reach the electronics. The oven shows E50 and may lock out buttons or stop cooking until the board dries or is serviced. The code may clear on its own once things dry, but it can return with steam.
1. Turn off the oven breaker and wait at least an hour with the door open. 2. Keep sprays away from the control panel area. 3. Turn the power back on and check the display. 4. If E50 persists after drying, call us. Do not open the panel.
Liquid can seep behind the panel and settle on the board, which the oven reports as moisture. The oven shows E50 so the board is not run while damp.
Please do not. Use time and the breaker off instead, because heat applied close to the panel can do harm. Let it dry naturally with the breaker off.
Then the board may be damaged or still damp inside, and we should look at it. Moisture can leave marks or corrosion that need repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
