What E13 means

On Wolf 24-inch E Series wall ovens in the SO24 and SO2450 families, E13 has two official meanings: electromagnetic disturbances, or a heating and main relay that is short circuited. The control saw something it cannot allow, so it shuts heating down and shows E13. Outside electrical noise can cause a one-time E13, while a shorted relay returns every time.

Common causes of E13

  • Electrical interference from another appliance or the supply
  • A heating relay or main relay that is shorted
  • A relay board that is damaged
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press Off and let the oven cool. 2. Turn the oven breaker off for a minute and back on. 3. Avoid running other large appliances on the same circuit during a test Bake. 4. If E13 returns, stop using the oven and call us. A shorted relay is a power-side problem, so please do not open anything.

! Why to stop there
  • A single E13 can be noise, but a repeat points to a shorted relay that must not stay in use.
  • Telling interference from a real short needs testing.
  • We give a written price first and back the repair for 30 days.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E13E13 questions
Why does E13 have two meanings?

The oven cannot tell noise from a short on its own. It reports electromagnetic disturbances or a shorted heating or main relay, and we determine which one applies. Both are possible, which is why a test is better than a guess.

Can a neighbor appliance cause E13?

Electrical noise from another device can trigger it once. If it repeats with nothing else running, a relay is the more likely cause. Keep large loads off that circuit while you test.

Is it safe to keep using the oven?

If E13 repeats, no. A shorted relay can leave heating energized when it should be off, so please stop and call us. Heating that stays on when it should be off is exactly what the control protects against.
