What STONE / Bake Stone In / No Bake Stone means

On Wolf L Series legacy wall ovens made before serial 16000000, such as the SO30F/S and DO30U/S, STONE, Bake Stone In or No Bake Stone appears when you start self-clean while the accessory bake-stone heating element is plugged into the rear receptacle. The oven will not run self-clean until that element is removed. It is a reminder, not a breakdown. Take the accessory out and the cycle can begin.

Common causes of STONE / Bake Stone In / No Bake Stone

  • The bake-stone heating element still plugged into the rear receptacle
  • Self-clean being started with the accessory installed
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. 2. Wear oven mitts and unplug the bake-stone element from the rear receptacle. 3. Remove the element and the stone from the cavity. 4. Close the door and start self-clean again. 5. If the message stays with the element out, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • It is usually a user setting, so we do not want you paying for a visit you do not need.
  • If the message stays with the element out, the receptacle or control sensing should be tested.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

STONE / Bake Stone In / No Bake StoneSTONE / Bake Stone In / No Bake Stone questions
Why does my oven show STONE when I start self-clean?

The bake-stone accessory element is plugged into the rear receptacle, which blocks self-clean. Remove it to run the cycle. The message shows because the stone element is plugged in at the back of the oven.

Is something broken?

No. The oven is protecting the accessory from self-clean heat. Once the element is unplugged and out of the cavity, the self-clean can run. Let everything cool before you reach in.

What if the message stays after removal?

Then the receptacle or the control may be reading wrongly. Call us and we will check it, with a written price before any work. Do not force the plug.
