A UIM Ambient Thermistor Shorted Error is what Error 09 0 4 reports on Wolf Legacy E Series wall ovens such as the SO30TE/S/TH and DO30PE/S/PH. The UIM, the user interface module, uses a thermistor to read the temperature near the display, and the control sees that sensor as shorted. You will see the code on the display, and cooking may be limited. It is a sensing problem, not proof that the oven is actually overheating.
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. 2. Check that nothing blocks the vents around the oven. 3. Switch the breaker off for one minute and back on. 4. See whether Error 09 0 4 returns after a short bake. 5. If so, do not cook in it and call us. Do not open the control panel.
The UIM's ambient thermistor reads as shorted. In plain words, the sensor that tells the control how warm it is near the display is giving an impossible reading.
Not necessarily, but the control cannot trust its reading, so it may limit operation. Please do not use it until we check. That is why neither reading can be trusted.
We test the sensor circuit first. If a part is needed we tell you the price in writing before work starts, and the repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
