Wolf sealed burners keep spills out of the burner base, but caps, ports and igniters still need regular care. A gentle routine keeps the flame strong and even.
Wolf gas cooktops use sealed, dual-stacked burners. The sealed design keeps boil-overs from running down into the burner base, which makes cleanup easier than on older open burners. It does not make the burners maintenance-free. The caps, the ports and the small igniter opening still collect residue from everyday cooking, and that buildup is the most common reason for a weak or uneven flame.
Every few weeks, once the cooktop is fully cool:
A soft sponge or cloth with mild soap handles routine cleaning well.
If a clean, dry, correctly seated burner still lights slowly, burns with a yellow or lazy flame, or will not stay lit, the igniter, the valve or the gas supply may need attention. Those are jobs for a technician.
Our Wolf cooktop repair page handles bookings. Expect a price in writing before any repair, plus 30 days of workmanship coverage once it is done. Houston communities we serve appear on our service area page.
