On Wolf Legacy E Series wall ovens from the SO30TE/PE generation, including the SO30TE/S/TH, code 04 x 0 reads Lock inputs invalid. The control board is receiving a combination of signals from the door lock mechanism that makes no sense, so it cannot tell whether the door is locked. The oven may stop or refuse to run cycles that depend on the lock.
1. Switch the oven off and let it cool. 2. Open and close the door fully, listening for the latch to move. 3. Check for anything stuck in the door frame. 4. Restore power and try a normal bake. If 04 x 0 returns, stop and book a visit.
04 x 0 is general: the lock inputs are invalid. 04 x 1 specifically says the lock and door inputs are invalid for a cleaning cycle. Both involve the latch and door signals reaching the board.
It could be either the lock mechanism, its wiring or the board reading it. That is why we test before recommending a part. We do not guess at control boards.
Try once after a cool-down. Repeated attempts can strain a latch that is already out of step. If the code comes back, book service. That keeps a small latch problem from turning into a broken mechanism.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
