This message shows on Wolf L Series legacy wall ovens with the Invensys control, including the SO30U/S and SO36U/S. KEYBOARD ERROR is a key communication error, meaning the oven is not receiving key presses reliably from the panel. You may find keys unresponsive or the display stuck on the message. It is closely related in meaning to the KEY COMM message on the same family of ovens.
1. Switch the oven off at the breaker and wait one minute. 2. Clean the keypad with a barely damp cloth and dry it. 3. Restore power and press each key once, gently. 4. If KEYBOARD ERROR remains or some keys do not respond, leave the oven off and call us.
It means the signal from the keypad to the controller is not arriving cleanly. On L Series ovens this shows as KEYBOARD ERROR, and the cause sits in the panel, its connection, or the controller.
It can, because moisture on a keypad creates false or missing presses. Switch the oven off, dry the surface and give it time. If the message persists, the panel needs inspection.
We would hold off. A communication problem can interrupt a cycle at any time. Book a visit so the panel and controller link can be checked.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
