Error 09 0 3 on Wolf Legacy E Series wall ovens such as the DO30TE/S/TH and SO30PE/S/PH is a UIM Ambient Thermistor Open Error. The UIM, the user interface module, measures the temperature around itself, and the control sees that sensor as open, as if its circuit were broken. The display shows the code, and the oven may stop or limit cooking. It is a sensing problem, not a sign that the cavity itself is too hot.
1. Turn the oven off and let the control area cool. 2. Make sure vents around the oven are clear. 3. Reset the breaker for one minute, then on. 4. Try a short bake and watch for Error 09 0 3. 5. If the code returns, call us. Please leave the control and panels closed.
The thermistor that measures ambient temperature at the UIM reads open, like a broken wire. The control cannot trust its temperature reading there. We test the sensor circuit before deciding.
09 0 3 is the thermistor reading open. 09 0 4 is the same sensor reading shorted. Both mean the ambient reading is unusable. Either way the ambient reading cannot be used.
Heat alone shows up as an overtemperature code, not an open sensor. If 09 0 3 persists after a cool-down, we should test the sensor circuit. We quote in writing first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
