On Wolf Legacy E Series wall ovens such as the SO30PE/S/PH, Error 03 x 1 reads No Outer Bake Element Detect. The control expects the outer bake heating element to draw current and sees nothing, so the cavity may stay cold or heat unevenly and the code appears. That x is simply the cavity number, so a double unit shows which side is affected.
1. Press off and wait for the cavity to drop to a safe temperature. 2. Look inside, with the oven off, for any visible break or blister on the bake element at the bottom, without touching it. 3. Shut the breaker for a minute, then bring the oven back on. 4. Try a short bake. If the oven stays cold or the code returns, call us.
It is the outer bake element, the one used for baking heat. The broil element has its own code, so this message points us to the bake side of the oven.
If only the outer bake element is lost, the inner bake path can still heat. Cooking then runs uneven or slow, and the control reports the missing outer element.
We do not recommend it. The wiring is high current and the cause may be the relay instead of the element, so a technician should measure first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
