On Wolf L Series legacy wall ovens with the Invensys control, for example the SO30U/S or DO30F/S, COMM ERR means communication with the oven controller has been lost. The display panel and the controller are no longer exchanging data, so the oven may stop heating, ignore the keys or hold the message on the screen. Saved settings may be lost.
1. Turn the oven off. 2. Switch the breaker off for one minute and back on. 3. Wait for the display to start and try a short bake. 4. If COMM ERR returns, call us. Please do not open the control panel or tug at wiring.
The oven's control panel and its controller cannot talk to each other. Neither side is necessarily broken yet, so we test the link and both ends.
Not always. The cause may be a cable or one board, which is why we measure before recommending anything. Telling us what was on the display helps.
Usually not, because the controller is the part that runs heating. We suggest waiting for a visit. Please avoid repeated resets, since each one stresses the control.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
