On Wolf M Series wall ovens, including the SO30TM/S/TH and DO30PM/S/PH, code 4731 tells you the control does not detect the upper oven lights. It switches the lamps on and sees no load, as if the bulbs or their connections were missing. The display shows 4731, and the oven is usually still able to cook, but the interior may stay dark.
1. Press the Off key and allow the oven to cool to a safe temperature. 2. Look into the upper cavity and note whether any light comes on when you press the light key. 3. If your manual describes a lamp lens you can turn by hand, do that only when cold and with the breaker off. 4. If the code stays, call us.
Usually yes. The lights are not part of heating, so baking should continue. We still suggest using a flashlight to check food and getting the lamps looked at soon.
Often it is, since the control reports no load when a lamp has failed. But a bad socket or the relay board output can cause the same code, so we test before assuming.
The control monitors every load, including lights, so it can tell when one is missing. That is useful information, and it makes the cause easy to find.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
