What No Indicator means

On Wolf CT electric cooktops (CTE and CTE-2) such as the CT30E/S and CT36E/S, No Indicator means power line cycling stopped the unit: the display is blank, the relays are open and no error is recorded. Cooking resumes if power returns within 5 seconds. On earlier CT induction cooktops (CTI), it is a power loss: the control turns off the display and shuts off every burner.

Common causes of No Indicator

  • Brief or complete loss of supply power
  • Tripped or weak cooktop breaker
  • Loose supply connection ahead of the cooktop
  • Control board not powering up
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn all burner controls off. 2. Check the cooktop breaker in the panel; switch it fully off, then on. 3. Check that other kitchen lights and outlets have power. 4. If the display stays blank with the breaker on, call us. Please do not open the unit or test wiring.

! Why to stop there
  • A blank display can come from the house supply or the unit, and live testing is not safe for owners.
  • We separate the two causes first, so you do not pay for the wrong repair.
  • Pricing is set out in writing before work begins.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

No IndicatorNo Indicator questions
Why is there no code on the display?

When power is lost, the control cannot show anything. The unit logs no error, because it simply stopped. On both CTE and CTI models, the burners shut off with it.

Will the cooktop restart by itself?

On CT electric models, cooking resumes if power returns within 5 seconds. After a longer loss, you start the burners again manually. Our technician starts from No Indicator on the screen, which keeps the repair focused.

The breaker is on but the display is blank. What now?

That points past the house supply to the cooktop itself. Call us and we will check it, quote in writing, and repair only after you approve.
