On earlier Wolf CT induction cooktops, including the CT30I/S, CT36I/S, CT30IU and CT36IU, a flashing hob indicator means the burner shut itself off after a boil or simmer. The guidance is to check for a boil-dry condition and then reset the cooktop at the breaker. You see the burner stop heating and its indicator flash, even though you did not turn it off.
1. Turn the burner control to off and remove the pan carefully; it may be very hot. 2. Check the pan for water level and a flat, clean base. 3. Let the glass cool, then switch the cooktop breaker off for a minute and on again. 4. Try a new pan with liquid. If the indicator keeps flashing, call us.
The cooktop protects itself when a boil or simmer ends in a boil-dry condition. It switches the burner off and flashes the hob indicator so you notice.
Turn the control off, let the pan and glass cool, then switch the cooktop breaker off for about a minute and on again. Then try a pan holding some liquid.
If the indicator flashes again with a proper pan and liquid right after a reset, call us. We will inspect the burner response and give a written price before work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
