On Wolf microwave drawers such as the MD24, MD30 and MWD models, a Monitor Switch problem is reached when the monitor fuse blows as soon as the power cord is plugged in. The monitor switch is a safety switch that watches the door, so a blown fuse means the interlock chain needs checking. The official test list covers the monitor switch, the monitor fuse, the primary and door sensing switches and the secondary interlock.
1. Unplug the unit or switch the breaker off. 2. Make sure the drawer closes completely and nothing blocks it. 3. Do not plug in a unit repeatedly if it keeps blowing the fuse. 4. Do not open the cabinet. 5. Call us and say that the monitor fuse blows at plug-in.
That is the pattern the monitor switch test is built for. The switch, fuse and door switches are checked in order. You are welcome to ask us questions at any point during the visit.
We do not recommend it. A fuse that keeps blowing is warning you about the switches, and a microwave stores dangerous voltage. Tell us what you were doing when it appeared, because that detail helps a great deal.
We test the monitor switch, the monitor fuse, the door sensing switches and the secondary interlock, then give you a written price. Photos of the display are useful when you book the appointment.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
